Waiting for this year's MD offical results is more than boring, so inspired by other madness creators, I wanted to do my own NG community post with thoughts about this year's creations and a few reviews of cartoons I've got something to say about. It's not gonna be all of them, obviously it cannot be all of them, but I hope you might consider this interesting nevertheless.

Starting with Gabe's brilliant movie starring Cymbourine's OC - A little late, but absolutely great movie, filled with fun and creative kills, funny gags and smooth animation- as per usual. When I thought Gabriel's movies cannot get any better, he still manages to improve even further, incorporating smooth and satisfying fbf aspects into his character animation or experimenting even more with perspective. Definitely one of the best (if not straight up the best) submissions this year and certainely one of Gabe's best movies up to date. The only thing I wish was different is Velour, I personally like the 2018 design most!

Secondly, ShootDaCheese's Exhumation Collab that admittedly, I had underestimated during it's development. Which perhaps was a mistake! The Collab turned out way better than I had initially expected. At first I was concerned, that the collab is going to be filled with poor animation and uninteresting tests, but that turned out to be the minority rather than an actual dealbreaker. Naturally there still are some parts, that I myself would never accept into a collab, and that just hurt to look at, but they quickly vanish and get replaced with amazing parts that overshadow the bad ones completely, such as the clips of Xhawk, Potke, BreadManBob (this one is a total killer), Gabriel Barsch, Shadz64 or SDC himself. The collab is well put together, has nice music, and generally speaking, is quite good.

Next, P33R's Classic Madness Collab, which unfortunately, I cannot consider as much of a good creation as the two previously mentioned ones. I appreciate and like the direction in which collab organizer wanted to go with their project, unfortunately, the collab falls flat to live up to it's own premise and rules. If I understand things correctly, the idea was to "BRING BACK THE GOLDEN ERA OF MADNESS!!!11!", which, certainely, cannot be achieved just by attempting to recreate what's already been done and not even doing it that well. I dig the idea itself, I love it when people take oldschool, classic madness heritage and attempt to redefine it, but it's a hell of a challenge, and cannot be done just by organizing a random clip collab, with mostly mid-tier animators. This being said, the collab is not completely awful, it has it's moments, such as really good clips from legendary Djjaner (who I was certain doesn't animate anymore :P) or Rewon, who simply delivered a really high quality clip that stood out of the crowd. It has decent editing and music choice, and therefore it deserves at least slight recognition.

Up next, Rodan91's Madness Miserabilis, which I really, really liked. I might be bit biast, because I really like zombies (or, zeds) in madness combat and as much as they've been exploited already, im still not bored with um. Rodan delivered a really solid, 4 minutes movie, with a somewhat interesting story, REALLY GOOD style transitions and smooth animation. What else is there to ask for? It certainely could've shown us a bit more, pushed the story a little further, but nevertheless, it remains as one of the year's best submissions in my opinion and I hope it's gonna win a spot.

Another collab, A-Max's Madness Nightmare! I really liked the idea, main protagonist and the enemy faction- It's all well designed and the sprites are done very well too. Music choice is interesting, the ending (and even the credits) are certainely highlights of the whole thing too. My only issue, unfortunately a big one is the animation level throghout the collab, which is really, really inconsistent, and makes the whole watching experience not as good. Some parts are animated really well, and some others are animated rather poor, and unfortunately, it seems to be an even tie, which lowers the rating for me.

Two Korean Madness veterans, 1418 (formerly known as Vassline/Heragij) and Dyera surprised us all with a collaboration that turned actually really decent! The beast-lenghted 15 MINUTES!!! movie is full of interesting choreography and satisfying kills, and moreover, the plot twist at the very end is just brilliant. I only wish that there was a bit more variety when it comes to sprites and backgrounds, and the music choice could've been a bit better in my opinion. Nevertheless it's still a very good production and certainely one of the highlists of this year's Madness Day.

We're not done with asian accents yet, 1418 prepared one more submission! (seriously, where does that guy get all of the energy from?) The Begin of Orange is a 16 minutes (!!!) prequel that expands the story of Orange we got to know years ago. Again, I enjoyed the movie, just as I enjoyed 1418's collab with Dyera. There's a lot of great choreo and interesting scenes (double deagle scene was perhaps one of my favorites), but the movie is a little lacking when it comes to sprites and general audiovisual part. Which, has it's charm, but sometimes it's just bit too much to handle. Story-wise the movie can be a bit rough too, but I believe that's caused mainly by the language barrier and the fact that it was never meant to be too serious. Nevertheless, it's absolutely great to see such a community legend still alive and kicking, even after all these years. 1418 is definitely one of this year's mvp's, and I hope to see more from him for many more years!

Always love me some Rozpierdalation, and especially when the episode in question is a banger. I'm oftentimes bit biast when it comes to Roz series, since it's basically a baby of my great friend dake, but this year we seriously got one of the best Roz episodes up to date. vrbsnn and everyone else involved did a really good job in delivering a satisfying movie full of awesome choreo, fun kills and interesting angles, but also in expanding the world of Roz a bit further. The movie is dripping with soul and creativity, prevailing in phenomenal music choice or scenery. Unfortunately, I'm aware that the movie had to be pretty much rushed and therefore there are a few rough spots, such as enemies appearing out of nowhere. Nevertheless, it's definitely one of the coolest movies submitted this year and I'm really excited to see more Rozpierdalation.

Finally, a debiut movie from Anuva and Maki, which perhaps is one of the best ways to introduce yourself to the community. I really liked the movie, it's nice to see something that's actually quite creative and simply funny. When was the last time we saw Madness Guys bowling? I had a lot of fun while watching it, I can only wish it was a bit longer, that we got a bit more gags! The ending could've been a bit more interesting too, but at this point i'm being too nitpicky. It's a good movie, go watch it!
